Oxalic acid (ethanedioic acid) is widely used as reducing
agents in rust-remover of metal treatment, dyestuff,
tanning leather, photography, as bleaching agent in
textile, wood industry, as purifying agent in pharmaceutical
industry, and as precipitating agent in rare-earth metal
processing.
It is also used as grinding agent for marble polishing
and used in waste water treatment to remove calcium
in water.
