Applications:
Heavy calcium carbonate, also known as ground calcium carbonate(GCC), is made of crashed natural calcite, limestone and etc. directly by mechanical method. As the sediment volume of ground calcium carbonate (GCC ) is smaller than precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC), it is also named as ground calcium carbonate ( GCC ). Light calcium carbonate, also named as Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (PCC), is made by chemical process method. Light calcium carbonate has a very fine and controlled particle size.
The main use of calcium carbonate is in the construction industry, as a building material
or as an ingredient of cement.
Calcium carbonate is also used in the purification of iron from iron ore, used in the oil
industry in drilling fluids, used in paints as an extender, used in plastics as a filler, used in ceramics/glazing applications as whiting.
Calcium carbonate is widely used medicinally as a dietary calcium supplement or antacid. It is also used in the pharmaceutical industry as an inert filler for tablets. It is also used in the production of toothpaste.
