D-xylose is an aldopentose
- a monosaccharide containing five carbon atoms and
including an aldehyde functional group. After it has
been catalytically hydrogenated, it turns into a natural
sugar substitute called Xylitol. This new sugar, along
with D-xylose itself, is a reducing sugar.
D-xylose is used in production of food coloring agent
and savoury flavours. It is main used in food, beverage,
meat products, and sausage etc. it will make the products
fresh, bright-colored and delicious.
It is also used in medicine. It is ideal for diabetes,
hepatitis, preventing tooth decay and weak kidney.
